Welcome to my online journal. I'm Alex Mead. For many years people
called me AMPro --so much so that it seemed like my name. More recently,
a lot of people on the internet have come to know me as green.earth.al.
In case anyone's been wondering what I've been up to, this journal is a

FAHRENHEIT 9/11 stuff...
(this news item posted on June.27.2004)
When Bowling for Columbine came out it took 2 months to make it to any theaters in Buffalo and it played at one theater and did fairly well.
Fahrenheight 9/11 opened yesterday in Buffalo at 3 theaters (one of them playing it on two screens) and it was sold out everywhere. My friends were handing out flyers outside of the theater last night passing out deception dollars with stickers on them pointing them to the WNY Progressive Directory and the Progressive Calendar. They were all excited, I had messages on my answering machine and what not. So tonight I'm going out to help them hand out more stuff and I'll probably end up seeing it at some point tonight.
=== today =========================================== Every show on both screens sold out today. We handed out a couple thousand deception dolars with stickers on the for websites where they can get involved in local organizations.
Then the chairwoman for Buffalo4Kucinich came along to see it and she got to talking to me and she had a ticket for a friend who never showed so I ducked in with her to see the movie for free.
Great movie. Joins the short list of movies that have made me cry along with Erin Brokovich and Bambi (Hey, I was 6 at the time).
After the movie I met a cool guy that knew a whole lot about a whole lot and we had a crazy goepolitical/socio-economic discussion while he wated for a woman that was in seeing the show. Quite a cool evening. We had 4 new people show up to Women in Black this afternoon. First time in a loooong time we've had more than 2 new people show up in the same week.
